Welcome to my Family Site! As I have mentioned before, I'm of Black Sea German from Russia heritage, I also have Scots from Ireland heritage, and I am a descendant of the Pilgrims, among others! All of these families seem to be branches of the Germanic Tribes. The Germanic tribes are broke down into 3 groups: 1. Northern 2. East 3. West.

I did a breakdown of 150 families that are my progenitors here in America... The results are my ancestors came from Baden, Germany and Alsace, France before going over to what is now 1. Ukraine and Russia, 2. The Netherlands, 3. Germany, 4. Cornwall, 5. Wales, 6. England, 7. Scotland 8. Ireland 9. Norway

Germans From Russia

If traced back correctly, they descend from Nathan "the prophet" though the line that was in Babylonian Captivity down to and from Bustani. They were Levites and Cohanim. They descend from the Franks, Lombards, Suebians, Charlemagne, Alfred "The Great", etc. They also came from the Strausburg, Austrian, and Baden areas. These were the ones invited by Catherine "The Great" to move to Russia (and now Ukraine) under special privileges as a thank you.

Norway

Other than Baden, for my German lineage, I only have one immigrant grandma from Germany itself... And she married into one of my Norwegian lines. No one knows how or where they met.... another mystery to solve in time.... My Norwegian ancestors... not sure really who they came from way back in the day... I have some more digging to do on that! I don't know much about the Netherland ancestry; I only have 2 families that I found that immigrated from there.

United Kingdom

There's only 1 family of my immigrant ancestors that came from Cornwall and their ancestry is a mystery as well... My Welsh family members... They seemed to have come over in the late 1600's. I'm pretty sure the majority of them became Quakers. This part of the family includes Daniel Boone, and my Evans part of the family... and possibly relative ties to Abe Lincoln.

I have only seen 1 family that seems to be truly of Irish ancestry. All the other ones that have immigrated from Ireland seemed to be of Scottish ancestry. My Scottish ancestors seem to be the Alpin Dynasty, Kings of Strathclyde/ Alt Clut, the picts, the descendants of Crinan "The Hound", King Robert I "The Bruce", the Stuarts, the Earls of Lennox, Grahams, Campbells, Smiths, etc. Many of these settled in Augusta County, VA when they immigrated over here to America.

English

As previously mentioned, I descend from several of the Pilgrim Families. Peregrine White, who Susanna was pregnant with on the Mayflower, and was the first Pilgrim born on American land, is one of my grandfathers. I'm not even sure where to start with my English immigrant ancestors. Most notable maybe? Peter Porter was the first Porter in America. He's believed to be descended from William de la Grande who fought in the Battle of Hastings along side William "The Conqueror." His son, Roger became the first Grand Porteur for King Henry I and Matilda. Several of my "English" ancestors came from an area in Normandy called the Continen Peninsula. This was where William "The Conqueror" grew up. Some of them are Aubrey De Vere, 1st Chamberlain of England and founder of the Oxford line, and ancestor to Milo De Vere who married Charlemagne's sister, Bertbelle. Baldric de Courcy who was a grandfather to John De Courcy and many noble lines. I believe Flaald (ancestor to the Stuarts) was from that same area.

Albert Thorson

Anyone who has followed Norwegian names, I bet can give an educated guess that is one of my Norwegian family lines! This is yet another grandparent that I did not know very well. He had moved to Montana several years ago. Great personalities come from both this side of the family and my grandma's. Speaking of Norwegian's and Thorson's, one of my Aunt's said she had heard that one of our family members had built a college. So I did some delving into it and asked one of my Great Aunts. She said it's True. Harald Thorson had built St. Olaf College, in Northfield, MN. His wife had passed away in child birth with their first child. And when he passed away in the early 1900's, he left over $1,000,000 (yes that's $1 million) to the college!

Joyce (Cory)

Ahhh! Grandma King! The ONE grandparent that I actually knew! I was her little "Minnie Me." And her "Tracy." She was amazed at how similar we were. I remember one time when we were visiting her, my mom told her that I had broke another watch. I'm thinking "what's the big deal about that?" Watching my grandma's reaction, I knew it meant something by the way she laughed. Apparently she was the one I inherited the uncanny watch breaking ability from... of all things! lol Does that mean we could stop time? My grandma was really sick when she born. My Great Grandma used to feed her bananas from a toothpick just to get nutrients in my grandma. This is my side of the family that comes from the Pilgrims, and many colonial settlers in America, many of who came from what is now known as the United Kingdom.
